MONTEREY PARK ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM CITY MANAGER

The Monterey Park City Council has announced the appointment of Donald F. McIntyre to the position of Monterey Park Interim City Manager.

Mr. McIntyre’s professional experience includes serving as the City Manager of Pasadena (1973-1990), and most recently as the General Manager of the Orange County Sanitation District.

Mr. McIntyre has extensive government experience and comes highly recommended as a strong manager with experience in all aspects of municipal government.

By unanimous vote, the City Council announced this interim appointment at a special meeting of the City Council conducted on March 17, 2010. The City Council had interviewed four highly qualified individuals for the interim appointment and found Mr. McIntyre best suited to guide the City while a search is made for a permanent City Manager.

Mr. McIntyre holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois and a Masters Degree in Political Science/Public Administration from Michigan State University.

Mr. McIntyre commenced his interim assignment with the City on Monday, March 22, 2010.
