Rosemead HS Girls Basketball 12th Ranked, Wins Two More
Rosemead – Rosemead High School Lady Panthers girls varsity basketball team was undefeated in two games last week, defeating El Monte 44-40, and Arroyo 47-32, to remain undefeated in Mission Valley League (MVL) action at 4-0.
The Lady Panthers are now ranked 12th in CIF Southern Section.
Rosemead now has an overall record of 13-4.
MVL leading scorer Evelyn Ramirez scored 15 points to lead Rosemead against El Monte on Jan. 20. Ramirez, a senior, also had eight rebounds and nine steals. Rosemead senior Jeanne Tran added 10 points and nine assists, and Lady Panthers freshman Sydney Hua had eight points and five steals.
El Monte was led by senior Tiana Stovall with 18 points and senior Sandra Gutierrez with 10 points.
In a game for first place on Jan. 22, both Rosemead and Arroyo were 3-0 in league. Rosemead won 47-32 to improve to 4-0 and Arroyo fell to 3-1.
Ramirez led Rosemead with 21 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, while Tran added 15 points as seven Rosemead players scored.
Arroyo was led by Melissa Perez with nine points and Angelica Ruelas with seven points. Arroyo is now 11-9 overall.
