Monterey Park Fire Department Structure Fire
On Wednesday, January 28th at 7:09 pm, the Monterey Park Fire Department responded to 617 N. Alhambra for a residential structure fire.
On arrival, Monterey Park Fire units Inflatable Water Slide found a two-story condominium with smoke coming from the second floor. The fire was confined to one unit and was knocked down in fifteen minutes with assistance from Alhambra, San Gabriel, Montebello, and Los Angeles County Fire Departments.
One elderly resident was transported to a local hospital with smoke inhalation injuries by Monterey Park Paramedics.
The Monterey Park Fire Investigators determined cause to be smoking in bed. The residence suffered significant damage due to smoke and water. The damage estimate to the residence was placed at one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars.
