Alhambra Historical Society
Are you over 60?
Then this program is for you!
Jim Venegas, Deputy Director of Community Services for the City of Alhambra, will be the featured speaker at the Alhambra Historical Society meeting on Wednesday, November 16 at 7 p.m. in the Masonic Center, 9 West Woodward, corner of First Street, in Alhambra.
“The City offers a wide array of programs, resources and services available for residents who are over sixty years of age. Many people don’t realize how much we can improve the quality of their life,” said Venegas.
“The City promotes self-reliance and helps individuals remain in their homes for as long as it is safely possible. Programs include case management, in-Home assistance, group meals as well as home-delivered ones, and transportation. We also provide help with Social Security, landlord-tenant relations, advocacy, Medicare and other issues. We want our senior community to be well-cared for,” stated Venegas.
The Historical Society will also have items on display for viewing. “Meet and Greet” begins at 7 p.m. with refreshments. At 7:30 the meeting and program will begin. Admission is free.
