98 High Schools Ran on Sept. 9-10 at Rosemead Invite
Rosemead High School’s Annual Cross Country Invitational at Rosemead High School and Rosemead Park next to the high school “at night” that has grown to a record 98 high schools this year, announced Meet Director Fidel Dominguez.
The meet had free admission and some of the top boys and girls cross country teams in California will be competing at Rosemead. The runners competed in a three-mile race by grade level or in the sweepstakes race.
The meet will have 10 races, starting with freshmen girls and conclude with the start of the boys sweepstakes race. Fifty small schools competed on Friday, Sept. 9, and 48 large schools on Saturday, Sept. 10. All races started and ended at Rosemead High School stadium on Lower Azusa Avenue east of Rosemead Boulevard.
This event featured about 4,000 runners and fans per day.
