Presidential Primary Election Tuesday, June 7, 2016

The Presidential Primary Election will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.–8 p.m.

Voters should be on the lookout for a sample ballot booklet, which should arrive in most homes by May 28, 2016.

Voters who are permanent vote by mail voters will receive their election information and ballots to enable them to vote by mail beginning May 9. Voters requesting a vote by mail ballot may complete an Application For Vote By Mail Ballot and return the application to the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorder no later than May 31. Applications are available in the voter sample ballot booklet, on the county’s website and at the Monterey Park City Clerk’s office.

Voter registration deadline is May 23. Voters must register to vote if they will be eighteen years old by election day, first time voters, have changed their name, have moved to a new address, have become a new US Citizen, or to change a party preference. To register to vote, visit the county’s website. Registration forms are also available at the Monterey Park City Clerk’s office.
