The American Cancer Society Relay for Life
The 2016 Relay for Life Alhambra Committee has kicked off its campaign! The 12 hour Celebration will take place on Saturday June 4, 2016 at Alhambra Park 500 South Palm Avenue, Alhambra CA, 91801.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature event, taking place across the nation and in countries around the globe. In fact, it’s the largest annual not-for-profit fundraising event in the world! It brings together 3.5 million people to:
Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. It is the strength of cancer survivors that inspires us to continue the fight. Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, those who have walked alongside those battling cancer can grieve and find healing. Fight back against a disease that takes too much. We make a commitment to save a life by taking up the fight.
During the actual Relay for Life event participants will take turns walking a designated track during a 12-hour period, signifying the fight against cancer won’t sleep until there’s a cure. This event is a whole lot more than just walking. There’s carnival-like fun for the whole family, live local entertainment, and a special time during which cancer survivors are honored.
Leading up to the event, teams engage in a friendly fundraising competition and are encouraged to get creative when it comes to their efforts. To learn more please contact:
