American Legion 6th Annual Pancake Breakfast
Joe Hashimoto spent the morning of March 19th busy cooking pancakes, eggs and sausages in American Legion Post 397’s kitchen for their annual fundraising breakfast.
Student from Mark Keppel and San Gabriel High Schools volunteered their services and served the delicious food to 115 guests.
Veterans and their families enjoyed good food, good fellowship and a good time at this event.
Commander Gabriel Suarez welcomed the veterans and their families to this event. The building is 83 years old and the post is in the process of putting on a new roof.
Members of the Legion and members of the Ladies Auxiliary worked together to provide this breakfast.
Commander Suarez and Chaplain Fritz Wilson announced that one of their members, Julie Potter, was suddenly taken ill at another event. Chaplain Wilson asked the audience do you have the type of relationship with God? Are you ready? He offered a prayer for her recovery. He asked God to help her and everyone.
Hats, tee shirts, jackets and more were offered for sale to help raise additional funds for the post.
Several lucky guests won door prizes and one lucky guest won the 50-50 drawing at the end of event.
American Legion Post 397 is located at 338 S. Ramona Avenue in Monterey Park.
