ASSEMBLYMEMBER CHAU HOSTS 3RD ANNUAL OPERATION GOBBLE – TURKEY GIVEAWAY
Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) in collaboration with the San Gabriel Valley Water Company and the California American Water Company, hosted his 3rd annual 49th Assembly District “Operation Gobble” turkey giveaway. The event was held at the Church of Our Saviour Kid’s Campus – 4316 Peck Road, El Monte, CA 91732.
The turkeys were distributed to local charitable organizations that serve low-income families in the greater San Gabriel Valley.
“This annual program is devoted to raising awareness about hunger issues in California while helping those who need it most,” said Assemblymember Chau. “This Thanksgiving season I hope that our event can inspire others to share in the giving spirit and help ensure that no family goes to bed hungry.”
The organizations that received the donated turkeys include: Boys and Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley; El Monte/South El Monte Emergency Resources Center; Asian Youth Center; La Casa de San Gabriel Community Center; the Church of Our Saviour; Home of Angels; Kiwanis Club of Temple City; Potrero Heights Community & Senior Center; and Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. – Greater El Monte Post No. 10218.
Assemblymember Chau represents the 49th Assembly District, comprised of the communities of Alhambra, Arcadia, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Temple City and portions of Montebello and South El Monte.
