The American Legion District 18 3rd Vice Commander, Magda Torrellas of El Monte, invites homeless women veterans with children to the annual holiday party when entertainment is provided along with personal gifts for the women veterans and the children.   A complete holiday dinner is provided with the assistance of the members if American Legion Auxiliary Alhambra Unit 139, and Auxiliary members from other Units throughout the San Gabriel Valley.   This year the event will be held Wednesday, December 9th, from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Alhambra American Legion Post 139, 24 North Stoneman, Alhambra.  Commander Torrellas reports that their guests come from throughout the area as she has personal contact with clinics, shelters and various facilities.   Torrellas can be contacted at 213-427-8533 for further information on this exciting event to start the holiday season and provide cheer for those less fortunate, and a call is encouraged in order to be sure to have gifts for all attending.
