Electronically Serving Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, & Rosemead

GREAT NEWS! SAVE THE DATE! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

The City of Monterey Park will hold its second annual Geranium Festival,

on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Barnes Park, beginning at 11:00 A.M and

scheduled to end at 4 p.m. The entrance to the festival is free.

The Geranium Festival is a tribute to our city’s flower, the geranium.

This year the festival is going to the dogs – the highlight of the event is a

doggy “costume” contest at 1 pm followed by a doggy “best personality”

contest at 2 pm. You must be a resident of Monterey Park and your dog

must have a current pet license with our city.

This year the festival will include interactive family games, Home Depot Kids

Workshop, Bruggemeyer Library Teen and Children’s craft activity, East Los

Angeles College STEM demonstration, pie eating contests, rock climbing,

train ride, police canine demonstration and a water dunk tank, are a few

examples. Many more surprises will be announced.

The money raised from the water dunk tank will be donated to the

Centennial celebration fund, which will be used to pay for all the fun activities

that are planned for our city’s 100th birthday next year.
