The Asian Pacific Health Corps (APHC) at the University of California, Los Angeles and City of Monterey Park will be sponsoring a free health fair at Monterey Park City Hall 320 W Newmark Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91754 on Saturday, November 21st 2009 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

At the health fair, student volunteers from APHC will offer free preventative screenings for cardiovascular disease, including blood pressure, and body mass index. In addition to these volunteers, there will be other service providers, including Western University of Health Sciences, the UCLA Asian Dental Clinic, and the Asian Pacific Liver Center to offer Hepatitis B, bone density, dental, glucose, cholesterol, hypertension, body mass index, and orthopedic screenings. Furthermore, various community organizations will provide valuable information and resources regarding other health and community issues.

Physicians and other healthcare experts will also be on-site to provide direct counseling and/or referrals. There will also be a children’s area with various arts and crafts activities.

The Health Fair is entirely FREE and open to EVERYONE (no insurance proof or documentation required).
