”MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY” AWARDS
On Saturday, Oct 24, 2009, Assemblymember Mike Eng honored 10 outstanding individuals who work or reside in the 49th Assembly District with the ”Make a Difference Day” Award in recognition of their outstanding service and contribution to the local communities.
Created in 1992 by Marcia Bullard, president and CEO of USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make a Difference Day is celebrated each year on the fourth Saturday of October and has become the nation’s largest day of volunteering. By honoring the outstanding individuals who have made a difference in their communities, Assemblyman Eng hopes to bouncy castle for sale encourage others to volunteer and make a difference within their own community.
This year’s honorees are:
Paul G. Perez – Vice President, I.S.E.S.I. (Inter-Cultural, Social & Educational Services Inc)
Dorris Dann – Executive Director of Our Saviour Center
Stella Chow – Treasurer, past President of the Chinese Parents Association for the Disabled (CPAD)
Dan Cendejas – Chairman for St. Anthony Church’s annual fall festival
Roy Arturo Rosell – Health Educator for Tobacco Control Prevention Program at Asian Youth Center
Joan Hunter – President/Consultant of Alltour/Travelmoore Inc., past president and active member of Rosemead Chamber of Commerce for 27 years
Jeanie & Rick Caldwell
Jeanie Caldwell – Board President of San Marino Unified School District
Rick Caldwell – President of Little League of San Marino
Jeanne Raya – active volunteer of La Casa de San Gabriel Community Center and member of Ramona Convent Board of Directors
Vivian Chan – San Marino Recreation Commissioner, past president of San Marino PTA Council
Mario Manzano – Intake Counselor at Lincoln Training Center, past president of Rosemead Kiwanis Club.
