Monterey Park Moves to Increase Financial Transparency, Implements Online Budget Analysis Tool
New web based product allows residents, staff and other community partners to view financial data and create reports based on department, expense and revenue categories, and fund types
The City of Monterey Park has implemented a new online financial tool that allows users to access multiple years of budgetary data and drill down into that data more conveniently than ever.
Available on the city website at www.MontereyPark.ca.gov, the Financial Data Transparency Tool uses graphical interfaces and tables to provide user friendly access to budgetary data. Citizens, employees and elected officials can use the web-based tool to improve access, understanding and analysis of the budget as well as 4-year actual historical financial data.
One of the City of Monterey Park’s on-going goals is to provide the public user-friendly access to financial data. The city and vendor OpenGov.com have announced the release of this new tool that will present, in graphic form, the city’s revenues and expenses in multi-year trends and departmental level details.
To use the new tool or for more information, please visit the city website at www.MontereyPark.ca.gov and click the Online Tools section or search for “Financial Data Transparency Tool.”
