More help for our veterans! The American Legion has launched a new online tool aimed at helping veterans and their families learn about and understand the benefits entitled to them. The American Legion Veterans Benefits Calculator gives veterans and their families a simple questionnaire and easy access to service officers who can help them with their claims. According to Department Service Officer John Hickey, “This tool proves useful and provides enough information to let veterans know where to get started. Many veterans do not realize some of the benefits they are entitled to, and this will help them get pointed in the right direction.” American Legion Department Service Officers across the nation, trained to help veterans, offer free advice and guidance to veterans who are dealing with the Veterans ‘Administration and other government agencies. Help is as near as a computer at http://www.legion.org/benefitscalculator/.

Hi Nancy,
It was a slow morning so I decided to check out your website for the first time. I’m looking for the city council circus but I could not find it. How do I pull it out? What category is it listed under?
It sure is different from your hardcopy publication. At least now I could check out what’s going on in good ol
Monterey Park. I just read, under the city’s site, that the library is now closed on Friday and Saturday. I would have thought closing on Sunday would be better instead of those two days. Who was the brain that came up with that? Wow. Just goes to show how the city is hurting financially. I also read of all the Chamber’s activities. They’ve been keeping busy with events. Who would have thought they’d recover so quickly.
